Tillandsia Tricolor Melanocrater

Tillandsia Tricolor Melanocrater is a striking air plant native to Central America and Mexico. This hardy beauty features stiff, dark green leaves and distinctive brown leaf sheaths, giving it a bold, sculptural look.

The name “Tricolor” refers to this airplant’s ability to change colour depending on how much sunlight it gets. With bright, consistent light, the leaves can take on deep red and purple tones. In lower light conditions, the plant remains more green, ranging from light to dark. As it matures, it becomes bushier, growing outward from its narrow base. You may also notice the leaves darken to a greenish-purple as it approaches its bloom cycle.
